Merry Christmas

Christmas morning we had our traditional breakfast of cinnamon rolls, Daddy's favorite.

Then the kids made me open my gift first because they couldn't stand keeping it a secret one more minute! I got a new Garmin GPS.

The dogs went next so they would be occupied and not into everyone elses stuff.

Considering the kids have been getting legos for years, it's usually pretty easy to guess what's in their packages just by shaking them.

Video games, lego sets, Star Wars, and "lego Star Wars" sets were on the wish lists as usual.

These were some other favorites.

Daddy got video games and legos too.

After all the gifts were opened everyone sat down at the table to play with their toys.

Countdown to Christmas!

We love lego so much, this year I decided to make little "countdown" kits for the 12 days before Christmas.
Each evening the kids put together a Christmas themed lego set I put together from our massive stash.
They really enjoyed it.

Christmas Eve the kids diplayed all of their creations and then started to play with them.

Katie posed some of hers for a family picture.

Daddy made santa come down the chimney.

Aaron melted his snowman in front of the fire.

And things just went down hill from there.

Fishing

Mark and Karen invited us out on their boat to go fishing. The kids had never been fishing before and they love to go boating so we were pretty excited.

The kids each got a turn to drive the boat, Noah took full advantage of Captain status and made "announcements".

The kids had a great time fishing, though none of them wanted to put the worm on the hook.

No one caught anything but the fish were definately biting because everytime they reeled in their line more of the worm was eaten away!

We saw turtles and geese on little basking docks and a couple of families of geese followed the boat around until we fed them some bread.

The weather was wonderful and just being on the lake was so relaxing, we all had a great time.
