President's Day

I am so sad to have discovered lapbooks so late in our homeschool journey. I love making them for holidays and small projects, they're so much more creative and meaningful than a stack of worksheets stapled together!

With this crazy weather we've been having I'm so thankful that our books are all unpacked now and that we have internet! We didn't need to go out to the library, we had our own little history section where we found books about Washington and Lincoln and we added a few interesting links to our History/Civics Activities section on this blog.

Chinese New Year

We dug a little deeper into Chinese New Year, more than just knowing our animal, this year.

Valentine's Day

We're going to combine our Valentine's Day lapbook with a fun poetry unit where we'll cover Acrostic, Rebus and Limerick (clean).

Poems soon to come.

Snowed In Again!

It started snowing again yesterday afternoon and it hasn't stopped yet!

The cars WERE completely dug out, Dave went to work Monday and Tuesday but he's working from home Today!

This is our front porch and sidewalk.

This is what the mail boxes across the street looked like Sunday.

This is what they look like today.

Snowed In!

And it's still coming down!

The kids can't wait to get out and play in it but I'm making them wait until it slacks off a little.

The dogs had to go out but they didn't stay out very long.

Groundhog Day

We wanted to really celebrate Groundhog Day this year, being in PA, so we made these cute lapbooks. Most of the pieces came from Homeschool Share. Now we know why so many people here have candles in every window, this was a mystery to us until now. We even got a text message this morning from Punxsutawney Phil saying he saw his shadow (darn it). This is Katie's book.
